John Allen jatkaa valmennusuraansa Ruotsissa

Miesten Kolmosessa pelaavan FC Interin reservijoukkueen päävalmentajana viime kuussa aloittanut John Allen jatkaa valmennusuraansa ensi vuoden alusta alkaen Ruotsin kolmannella sarjatasolla pelaavan Oskarshamns AIK:n päävalmentajana. Oskarshamns AIK sijoittui viime kaudella lohkossaan toiseksi, mutta jäi nousukarsinnoissa ilman Superettan-paikkaa vierasmaalisäännön perusteella.

Allen oli FC Interin edustusjoukkueen valmennusryhmässä mukana kesästä 2016 alkaen aina kauden 2018 loppuun asti. Edustusjoukkueen päävalmentajan tehtävässä hän oli jälkimmäisen osan menneestä kaudesta. FC Interin tekninen johtaja Vesa Mäki on iloinen Allenin saamasta mahdollisuudesta:

– John on tehnyt paljon hyvää työtä niin edustus- kuin nuorten joukkueissakin. Ammattitaidon lisäksi seurasta lähtee mahtava, iloinen persoona. Silti olemme seurassa erittäin onnellisia Johnin puolesta hänen siirtyessään uusiin haasteisiin lahden toiselle puolelle ja toivotamme sekä Johnille että Oskarshamnille menestystä tuleviin kausiin, Mäki kertoo.

FC Interin reservijoukkueen valmennusryhmä täydentyy joka tapauksessa lähiaikoina.

– Johnin lähdön myötä reservijoukkueen valmennukseen tulee totta kai muutoksia. Kari Virtanen jatkaa, kuten jo valmennustiimissä mukana olevat Erol Ates, Kadem Hamidi sekä maalivahtivalmentaja Jani Meriläinen. Tammikuussa seuraan tulevan edustusjoukkueen uuden fysiikkavalmentajan tehtäviin kuuluu myös valmentaminen reservijoukkueessa. Tämän lisäksi reservijoukkuetta täydennetään vielä yhdellä valmentajalla, Mäki mainitsee.

“I would like to thank all the people behind FC Inter. From staff, coaches and players in the first team that I’ve worked with in the last three years. From youth side all the coaching staff and players I have had a great time working with: B boys, A boys, talented players in morning training with the second team.

Then of course the people who make the club run behind the scenes. A big thanks to the restaurant staff.They are great people and the great cooks who serve every day. Office staff and all involved in Inter.

Then the fans thanks for your support. The cup win will always bring back some fantastic memories I’ll never forget. What a game, what a night.

Finally, of course Mr. Stefan Håkans and Jami for giving me the opportunity to work in FC Inter back in 2016 and Vesa and Stefan for giving me the chance to coach as head coach for the first team when Fab left this has been the highlight of my three years in Inter.

Then finally I have to say one big thanks to the big man Ville Törnqvist. We have had some great laughs and a few hard disagreements in the last few years. For me Ville is Mr. Inter. He spends every day helping as a kit man, then watching all ages training from first team to junior players from 8.00 in the morning until 21.00 at night. What a man. I’ve never seen a man in all my football life so passionate and committed to a football club. He’s unbelievable.

I have had a hell of a time here. But now it’s time for a new challenge in my life and coaching. Happy Christmas to all and a successful 2019.”
